On Saturday, October 5th, we hosted the renowned Jupiter String Quartet along with guest violist Phillip Ying and cellist David Ying for an intimate performance, dinner, and conversation. This extraordinary ensemble performed one of the most famous string sextets in the classical music repertoire, Arnold Schoenberg’s Verklärte Nacht, Op. 4 (1899), and then spoke with Calgary Philharmonic Music’s Artistic Director Dean O’Brien about careers in classical music, music competitions, and life as professional musicians.
