Tzavta #47 Elle Sofe Sara

In honour of VÁSTÁDUS EANA / The Answer is Land, Springboard Performance and Park by Sidewalk Citizen offered a feast and salon featuring artists from the Elle Sofe Sara Company (Norway) and local Blackfoot artist Garret C. Smith.

We gathered to share food and discussion, exploring the inter-relationality between the body, the land, Indigenous artistry, and our future.

The Elle Sofe Sara Company, led by choreographer and filmmaker Elle Sofe Sara, creates works rooted in Sámi traditions, storytelling, and contemporary performance, with a focus on Indigenous identity and connection to the natural world.

Garret C. Smith is a Kainai (Blood Tribe) visual artist and educator whose work blends contemporary forms with Blackfoot traditions, exploring themes of culture, identity, and relationship to the land.
