MINSOO SOHN

Known as a performer with poetic vision and musical intelligence, Sohn continued to garner praise from critics and audiences alike for his masterful virtuosity and deep musicianship. The latest accolade, published in The New York Times, called his Honens-label recording of Bach's Goldberg Variations a "beautifully articulated, radiant interpretation" and named it one of the top classical recordings of 2011.

Internationally acclaimed, Minsoo Sohn is a Korean-born pianist celebrated for his interpretations of Bach, Beethoven, and Liszt. A Laureate of the Honens International Piano Competition, he has performed with leading orchestras and on major stages across North America, Europe, and Asia.

ANDREA DAVISON

Andrea had worked with Honens for over ten years, most recently as Director of Career & Competition Planning. She managed Honens Laureates and produced the triennial Honens Piano Competition and annual Honens Festival. Her work with the Honens Artist Development Program strengthened the organization’s Complete Artist philosophy through strategic partnerships across Canada and around the world.

Andrea Davison has played a central role in championing emerging pianists through her leadership at Honens, combining her expertise in arts administration with a passion for supporting artist careers on the global stage.

Dr. James Ellis is the Director of the Calgary Institute for the Humanities at the University of Calgary, where his research and leadership foster interdisciplinary exchange and public engagement with the humanities.
